Have you and the little ones been following the Olympics?

I don't recall ever watching them when I was a kid, but I do remember when Greg Louganis cracked his head on the diving board back in 1988. That was so scary! Because of that incident, I still get so nervous every time I watch that sport! Sometimes I even cover my eyes. I was about 9 or 10 when that happened. That is one of the most memorable Olympic moments in history!

I imagine there are a bunch of kids having their own little Olympics, driving their parents up the wall... jumping on and off the furniture, climbing on the counters, doing their little crazy stunts. It's funny how kids are so easily influenced, maybe not so funny for mom and dad.

If I were a parent, I would encourage my kids to watch the Olympics, but I would be a little worried. They are so inspiring! It's not because I want them to grow up to be Olympians, not that, that would be a bad thing. I'd certainly be proud if they did. I'll be proud of my kids no matter what they do, as long as they aren't breaking the law and getting into trouble.

This was my favorite moment of the London Olympics.

The Olympics are a great thing for kids to watch though, because it teaches them about hard work, competition and good sportsmanship. I've seen lots of good sportsmanship at the London Olympics. I think the parents and the coaches have played a part in that. They've done such a remarkable job coaching and raising those athletes.

I think there are lots of good role models, especially the current Olympians. They seem like good kids, there parents are obviously doing something right.
It's good that they have such strong, positive support systems.

I'm sure a few of them are going to become -superstars-...

We're going to be seeing lots of Gabby Douglas! She's already getting endorsements for Kellogg's, she's been on magazine covers... good for her!

I think we'll also be seeing lots of Missy Franklin, although, I've heard she hasn't taken any endorsements. She wants to be able to swim for her high schools team. I think that is really cool!

These are very good girls. I'm impressed with the way they carry themselves. There aren't a lot of celebrities I would want my kids to look up to, but if it were one of these Olympians, I'd be thrilled!

I know Michael Phelps made a mistake a few years ago, but I think he's going to be okay. He's got a good support system... his mom seems like a good lady and not the kind of mom to let her kids go wild and get away with it. I think he's going to be fine. I still think he's a good guy. Good people mess up sometimes.

I just hope that all of these young Olympians will stay the wholesome, humble people we've grown to love. Fame and wealth can go to a persons head.

I love this girl! She's my fave! I'm sad that she had to retire so soon!

Shawn Johnson has done very well, she has had tons of endorsements, it doesn't seem like it's phased her at all. She's still such a good girl. Let's hope they all follow in her footsteps!

Anywho...

I hope your little Olympians are staying safe and aren't driving you too mad. You never know those little Olympians, could be the next Michael Phelps or Gabby Douglas!
