Weight Issues

Pinned Image

My tummy use to look like this. I would love to go back to that. A lot of the images I've been seeing on Pinterest lately are startling. This is a nice, healthy looking figure. I just want my butt to look good in jeans again.

I'm not a fan of the whole "thinspiration" obsession that's going on right now. The word itself bothers me. I think the reason I find it so bothersome is because of the pro-Ana movement, that seems to be where it is often referenced. I don't know when or where the term "thinspiration" started, but the way it is being used and encouraged seems dangerous and I think that's why I have a problem with it.

There is nothing wrong with being thin and it's not that I'm against losing weight, changing eating habits, or exercise -though it's not necessarily my favorite activity-. I know I need to take better care of myself. Being healthy is important. I have a lot of unhealthy habits that I do need to work on.

I'm all for being the healthy, natural kind of skinny. There are a lot of attractive thin women who were blessed with great metabolisms. I can't hate them for that. If you are one of those women, I applaud you and you are an inspiration.

Eating is one of my favorite hobbies. I eat a lot! I absolutely hate the idea of dieting! And, don't even get me started on junk food! Dorito's, Frito's -Chili Cheese Frito's are out of this world!-,popcorn and all sorts of salty snacks followed by something sugary sweet like Ben & Jerry's Phish Food, those are my go-to foods and leave it to Coca-Cola to always quench my thirst. I love it!

My problem isn't what I eat though, it's that I eat a little too much of it and it's also lack of exercise. I have a pretty good metabolism, I burn calories very easily and quickly. It wouldn't be necessary for me to cut out my favorite munchies entirely and I could probably still eat a lot of the junk I love and stay slim, if I put more exercise into my routine.

So far this summer, I feel like I've already lost weight. My stomach and waist feel smaller. It's the lower half, from the hips down I need to work on. My hips have definitely expanded! This is the biggest they have ever been.

Just like everybody else, I have my own insecurities. Weight has been an issue for me, for a while now. I would love to be skinnier, but I want a nice, flat, but toned, feminine and healthy looking tummy -like these...

My tummy use to look like this back in the day. It's still small, just not as flat. I like that this girl is thin, but doesn't have bones popping out all over the place and her thighs aren't like twigs.

I don't want too much muscle and I don't want to look emaciated either. I'm not going for the "skeleton with hair" look.

I'm petite, my height is 4'11". I'm about a size 3, but can still wear a size 2 if the pants are stretchy enough. I know that sounds small, but my hips are huge, believe me. I usually shop in petites or juniors.

I have very short legs and it's hard for me to find pants that fit right, so I do have to watch my figure a little. If my hips are too wide, it makes pants look weird on me. 2 is the right size for me. I've noticed my size 3's are already looser.

Making changes in your diet and routine is necessary sometimes and sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do. It doesn't have to be unpleasant though and you don't have to put so much pressure on yourself.

I'm not going to obsess over it. You don't have to be a size "0". If you have curves, don't hate them, embrace them!

Throughout the week, I will be featuring women either famous or not, of all shapes and sizes, who I think have the most fabulous bods. I will even be going old school.

Which female celebs do you think have the best bodies?

  1. All of these girls look fine, but the girl in the white briefs is a little too thin. Even at your height, a size 2 is pretty darned small. As long as you eat right, exercise and drink plenty of water, your body will show you your best weight. I hate when girls make themselves miserable to be something they aren't meant to be. Don't forget to consider the size of your bones, too.

    1. Exactly. I don't like seeing graphics that say, don't eat this and don't eat that, or like junk food is bad. Yeah I agree too much of it is bad, too much of anything is bad like too much dieting and too much exercising is bad too. I hate when I'm out at a restaurant and order a big meal and everyone is staring at me like I'm a bad person. I just think people are going about it all wrong, we shouldn't make food an enemy. Like we can't give kids sugar anymore, because suposidly it's poison. I ate cookies, cupcakes, doughnuts, candy and all kinds of sweets when I was a kid and still do. I'm still here. Anyway, thank you for stopping by and commenting. This is very good advice. I just want to get my hips down a bit. My proportions are a little off.
