The Skylar Community.....
You may or may not remember, but not too long ago, I mentioned I would be starting the Skylar Community. My plan was to create a separate blog for it, but I have decided not to do it that way. Instead, I'm going to put the community here on this blog and I'm also going to start a Facebook group for it.
What is the community and what is it for?
I am having a hard time with is getting readers to interact, contribute and participate. Participation is important, without it, Skylar is just a blog and it is so much more than that. There is also an important message I am trying to get out and I need help doing that.
The community is a way for people to become more familliar with Skylar and our concept. I also want to get to know all of you better. You will be able to ask questions, participate in polls, and interact more.
It's for bloggers, artists and crafters, fashionistas, people interested in the MIT program and modeling, the model search, joining our team, guest blogging, and for those who just want to come show their support.
It is not just for you to come scratch our backs, we want to scratch yours too. You will be able to share your posts, reviews and giveaways, linky parties, contests etc, so you can get more followers, likes, comments, entries, link ups and participation.
It is also for people considering starting up their own blogs, but aren't sure how to get started. This would be a great place for you to get support.
So, the community is a place for us to support and get to know each other.
Before I start the group, I want to get an idea about how many members there will be. I don't want to start it until there are at least 10 people interested in joining.
If you would like to join the group, please leave a comment and your Facebook URL. Once enough people comment I will start the group and those who leave their Facebook URLs will be invited to join.
If you don't want to post your Facebook URL in the comments you can send it
to me at skylarmagazine.sarah@gmail.com, that way you don't get tons of friend requests from a bunch of random people*
