Color Inspiration: Power Color #2:

Orange

Orange is described as being a power color and also a healing color. It is said to increase the appetite -does it make you hungry?

Come to think of it, my tummy does seem to grumble more. Perhaps it is the color, or it could be that all of the tempting treats I discover throughout the day just looks so scrumptious.

This peppy hue has been known to stimulate enthusiasm and creativity. One of it's driving characteristics is curiosity. It inspires exploration of new things...

My very curious orange Tabby when she was just 2 1/2 months old, about a week after bringing her home from Sisca.org to live with us... and she is a very curious kitty. At almost 2 years she is still getting into everything! -Cabinets, the pantry, you name it-.

Unlike our previous power color -red, which is an explosive color associated with fiery heat, danger and rage, orange is an energetic yet gentle hue that is associated with the benign warmth of the sun.

If you are going through stressful times, are bored at work -constantly looking at the clock waiting for the day to end (I hate that, it's like watching paint dry), brainstorming is leading no where and there no new ideas, if you are in need of a serious energy boost -always feeling fatigued- brighten up your day and pep up your life with a cheery shade of orange.

You can wear it, consume it, decorate with it, keep it close to you, carry it with you where ever you go. It's power and it's warmth will keep you energized and it's brightness will bring you cheer.

Individuals who favor the sunny hue seem to be confident, positive, thoughtful and sincere. Do you think it's true?

  1. Beautiful! I love orange and I love those shoes. Your cats sounds like my bunny, except for my bunny chews on my cables! Pinned.

  2. Thank you. Oh Bridget does that too, that's why she's not allowed in my office. I tried to cover them with tape, and the little dickens got the tape off. She gets up on the counter, she's torn down a curtain, jumps up on the window screen. She's a stinker! Bunnies are cute, who knew they could be so ornry.

    Thanks for commenting.

  3. What a fun post about orange. I am not an orange lover but I love Salmon. The shoes are so cute and I like the mischieveous little girl and kitty. Orange is my least favorite color of flower, but yet I love the old fashioned orange Oriental Poppies. Guess I like orange more than I think. lol! Orange ya glad? Sorry, I couldn't resist.

    1. Hi Jann. Thanks for stopping by and for commenting. Yes, they are mischieveous aren't they? I never use to love orange up until recently. I tell ya what, Pinterest has changed my opinion about a lot of stuff. I'm really into coral and peach though.

Not sure if you saw it or not, but I did a post a few days ago about your front porch. Thought you might want to know just in case. I was very impressed with your porch and your yard.
